Can Dulane Be Taken For A Long Duration?
Question: I am taking Dulane 20 mg tablet daily once for the last 4 or 5 years.
I am not sure this will create any side effect on long term.
This was suggested by a doctor to reduce my anxiety problems - ( I used to have palpitations earlier especially in the night..but now a days I am fine). Doctor suggested me to continue this for long term or else it will come back.
please suggest me If i stop this what is going to happen..If continue it will have any side effect on liver etc?

Regarding the need for further treatment I think available information is not enough but most patient with anxiety disorder need treatment for 2 years and they have almost complete remission after that.
Assuming that you have the anxiety disorder a trial must be given to reduce dose of Duloxetine and this should be done under medical supervision.
Regarding the side effects although it is safe antidepressant but it is recommended to take following tests every 6-12 months
1. Blood pressure
2. Weight measurement
3. Renal profile
4. Liver function test
