Question: Hi I had an MRI. It states that I have moderate/ severe chondromalacia of the medial side of the knee with full thickness fissuring and early subchondral oedema. No significant joint effusion.synovitis or intra articular osteochondral body. Will I need surgery?

You will need to try Physiotherapy for 4-6 months and if you are still in pain while performing daily activities, then you will require arthroscopic procedures to restore cartilage continuity.
