How Can A Leg Rash Due To Withdrawal Of Dapsone Be Treated?
Question: Should I still have this leg rash after stopping dapsone and reducing prednisone? Had pericarditis, started dapsone 3 weeks ago, after sulfa allergy. Prednisone before this gave no rash. Bruise spreading, left leg more swollen.
Brief Answer:
Dapsone rash takes few weeks to settle
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and it is very common to develop drug rash with dapsone.
It will take few weeks to settle down.
If your blood work up is fine there is no need to worry as rash will take sometime before it disappears.
I would recommend you to upload the photographs of the affected areas under the report section of the site so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.
