Nevus or a pigmented lesion is called as freckle.
Freckle can be present on the eye lids or on conjunctiva or they can be seen inside the eye involving iris or choroid.
Majority of the nevus are benign and does not show progression however rarely they can show progression into malignancy.
Hence all nevi or freckles should be followed up with frequent eye examination and if they show progression in the form of increase in size, pigmentation or vasculrity treatment is required.
Nevus present on eyelids or on conjunctiva can excised for cosmetic reasons.
