Is Nebulization With Levolin And Normal Saline The Right Treatment For Wheezing?
Question: Hi Doctor,
My son has mild eczema and he gets cold very often. September first week he had a severe episode of wheezing and he was treated for it. Since then by first week of every month he starts having cold which develops into wheezing in a day of two. Last month as he started having some symptoms of cold I gave him levolin .63mg + 1 ml normal saline nebulizer twice a day and it didnt develop into wheezing. This month also he has started showing symptoms of cold ( runny nose , slight cough) . Is it safe to give "levolin .63mg + 1 ml normal saline nebulizer" every day twice as soon as the symptoms start. Does it have any side effects?

Brief Answer:
Very safe
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
Let me assure you that nebulization with Levolin and normal saline is very safe and widely used with side effects rare. Rarely it can lead to alteration in blood potassium levels or may cause increased heart rate but you need not worry about that.
