Suggest Tests To Diagnose Hypoglycemia
Question: How to test if a person is hypoglycemic? What is the most accurate work up?
Brief Answer:
Glycated Hemoglobin test...
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
To check the level of glucose in blood, you need a Glycated Hemoglobin test.
This test measures plasma glucose concentration.
Venous blood is needed for this test.
When you'll make this test you should be on an empty stomach, and not stressed, because stress increase the level of glucose in blood.
To be sure for the result you should repeat this test several times.
The normal range of glycated hemoglobin in blood is between 5.7 - 6.4 percent.
If the level of glycated hemoglobin is under 5.7%, then the person is hypoglycemic.
If the level is above 6.4%, then the person is hyperglycemic.
