Suggest Treatment For Abnormal ST Elevation In An ECG Report

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Jul 2015
Question: Today I had an ECG done and it came up as abnormal due to non-specific ST elevation. I have never had an abnormal ECG before, I have had a few of them for palpitations. The Dr. wasn't concerned and said it was something called benign early repolarization syndrome. Should I be worried, is there anything I should be doing.

Brief Answer:
This is a normal ECG pattern in healthy persons

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that "early repolarization syndrome" is a condition which is normally found in healthy persons.

It has been evaluated as a common variant pattern of ECG in normal persons and it is not associated with any risk for coronary artery disease. It can be found in 1-2% of normal healthy persons.

So there is nothing to worry about! Just relax!

I would recommend you just to have regular ECG follow ups in the future. If you could upload your ECG, I would give a second opinion based on it.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Iliri

Brief Answer:
Your ECGs are completely normal.

Detailed Answer:

Hello again!

I reviewed your uploaded ECGs, and would like to confirm that they are completely normal (no rhythm disturbances, no AV or intra-ventricular conductance disorders, no specific repolarization disorders).

So, nothing to worry about.

Wish you a pleasant weekend! Dr. Iliri
