What Causes A Crawling Sensation In The Anus?
Question: GOOD MORNING, I AWAKENED YESTERDAY WITH CRAWLY FEELINGS IN MY ANUS. I CHECKED WHEN I
HAD A BM AND I SAW TINY WHITE WORMS. I AM 73 YEARS, HAVE NO CHILDREN, OTHER THAN MY NEICES
7 YEAR OLD AND 11 YEAR OLD. THEY DON'T ACT LIKE THEY HAVE "ANTS IN THEIR PANTS" I'M FAIRLY
SURE I CAN GET SOMETHING AT THE GROCERY STORE, WHAT IS THE BEST THAT WILL GET RID OF THESE
LIKE YESTERDAY?

Brief Answer:
Prescription medicine needed

Hi
Thanks for posting your query at HealthcareMagic.
This seem like pin worms. Were they crawling in the stools?
Well its very easy to get rid of them. Only single dose of albendazole or mebendazole is good enough. In most western countries its not available over-the-counter, so get a prescription from your doctor. This medicine is safe for children also. So they can also get de-wormed at the same time as you.
I looked up for de-worming medicines over the counter but there is nothing very effective for this. So you will need a prescription.
Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
