Question: I'm short of breath, wheezing and the nebulizer and albuterol are not working. I am coughing thick green mucus

Thanks for your question on HCM.

I want to ask few questions first.
1. Are you having COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)?
2. Are you having fever?
3. Since how many days you have these symptoms?
4. Have you undergone chest x ray recently?
5. Are you a smoker?

The most common cause for your symptoms are lung infection.
Green thick mucus also favours possibility of infection.

So, I advice you to immediately consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray to rule out infection.
You may need injectable antibiotics, bronchodilators and steroids.
So better to consult pulmonologist and start treatment.
