What Causes Distorted Vision Despite Multiple Treatments?
Question: About four years ago I had Macular surgery on my left eye. My vision never improved. I am told the hole closed nicely. I still have a wavy distortion in the middle of my vision on my left eye. A year and half ago they did cateract surgery on my left eye to try to improve my vision, without success. About a year ago my eye surgeon notices a detached retina of the lower layer. I did not notice any change in my vision before this. It was recommended by the eye surgeon to just monitor it and not try to use laser surgery to fix it because I have had so many problems with the eye. About 6 months ago I went to a neuro opthalmologist for another opinion about my eye sight. She notices some pseudophhakia with some wrinking of the posterior capsule. The only solution the doctors tell me is keep my left eye closed when I am at the computer at for work, but that causes my right eye to be strained causing me to rest my good eye constantly.
Brief Answer:
Detalis enclosed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for choosing HCM for your query,
As per your query your left eye is badly damaged and already had multiple operation. As now there is wrinkling of the posterior capsule of the implanted lens. Its better to avoid over strain to the eye and to prevent the wrinkling process. As second eye is perfectly alright and your age is 62.So the suggestion by your opthalmologist is a good, while doing stressful things just use your eye which is normal otherwise at normal work use both the eyes.
This will delay the risk of further intervention in left eye.
An antioxidant should be taken daily,It may be helpful.
Thanks!
