Question: my 85 year old mother is being treated for overactive bladder. she says she is extremely thirsty and has appeared jaundice in coloring to me. she is dealing with some memory issues, but suddenly seems extra confused. could this be related to the medication? she is scheduled to see a urologist on wednesday, but I am suddenly very concerned she is dealing with something medication wise that is causing this sudden extreme fogginess.

Brief Answer:
Very difficult to comment on unless you provide names of medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

The loss of memory ,and developing a state of confusion can not be commented on whether it is due to medications that she is taking for her other illness.
However this could be due to some other metabolic conditions like Hyponitremia (Low Sodium levels in blood ),or uncontrolled Diabetes .that is commonly associated in elderly patients .

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical evaluation and get following basic tests done to establish diagnosis
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Renal Function tests
4) Serum Electrolytes

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
