What Causes Intermittent Pain In The Chest?
Question: hello doctor,
My husband (27 years) is having pain in the right side of the chest since more than a month now.
He feels this pain intermittently & specially after sitting for a long while.
The intensity of the pain being 6 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest.
This pain goes away on its own after some time.
Should he be seeing a doctor ? If Yes, which specialist he should be visting ?
Do you see something serious ?
Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Orthopaedician maybe visited.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings!
Thanks for posting your query on hcm.
I have gone through your query and I feel that the nature of the pain is musculoskeletal.
For this, he may take a combination of tablet Etoricoxib and Thiocolchicoside twice a day for a period of 5 days. He should avoid staying in the same position for a long time.
Also, it is better to get an ECG done to rule out any cardiac disorder, to be on the safer side.
You may visit an orthopaedician for physical examination.
If you have any further doubts/ queries, you may get back to me.
Regards,
Dr. Sonia
