But is visine safe gor people with glaucoma? The reason I take simbrinza is because I have open-angle glaucoma .
Brief Answer:
Visine not used in closed angle glaucoma
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Visine is not advisable in closed angle glaucoma. The mechanism of disease is different in open and closed angle glaucoma. Other Decongestent eye drops have more active ingradiants which in cases of glaucoma are not welcome.
Use lubricant drops till you see your consultant as there are various parameters that need looking into like your present IOP.To be on safer side your IOP can be monitored after some days of VISINE use.
In my openion VISINE is ok for you but a mention with your consultant will keep our mind at rest.Since the treatment is to continue for a long period, we should be absolutely sure of safty in individual case.
