Brief Answer:
Pain could be due to pleural thickening.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Your wife is suffering from pleural effusion left for which she has been put on tb treatment.

She seems to be responding well. In the x Ray report sent by you I really can't appreciate the swelling but there definitely appears to be some bunting of CP angle. It could be left over fluid or thickening of pleural membrane. You should have sent radiologists report on x Ray along.

The pain could be because of the pleural thickening as when the tissues stretch, there may be some pain. That's ok and she should continue deep breathing exercises and should even walk.

However if there is any infection in the left over fluid which has got infected can also cause pain. That then needs to be further investigated.

Why her tb treatment is being planned till May 17. Normally it's given for only 6 months if response is satisfactory. You may discuss these issues with her treating physician.

Do not worry about the ESR, it's ok as of now.

Take care

Brief Answer:
schedule is 4 tablets for 2 to 3 months then 2 tablets for next 2 to 3 mont

Detailed Answer:

Yes the schedule is 4 tablets for 2 to 3 months and then 2 tablets(both medicines in one tablet-R cinex) for next 3 to 4 months. The treatment can be extended upto 9 months if the response to treatment is delayed. So why 1 year? There must be a reason. Is the left over fluid infected or are the doctor suspecting drug resistance? Please discuss with your doctor.

Brief Answer:
You have to get an ultrasound chest done.

Detailed Answer:
As i said earlier there is some blunting of left CP angle. On xray it`s not possible to say if it is fluid or it is pleural thickening. You have to get a ultrasound chest done to tell the difference.

Brief Answer:
You have to decide for yourself which doctor you go to.

Detailed Answer:
I'm not in a position to advise on changing the doctor. That has to be your decision. I can only suggest that you can go for a second opinion preferably of a pulmonologist.

since I do not reside in XXXXXXX I do not know about doctors there.

Take care.
