Are Early Periods, Fatigue And Irritation Signs Of Menopause While On Pill?

I am 40 in a few months. I've taken the pill for 23 years. Always had a regular cycle (to the hour!). Sometimes run 2 packs together to stop withdrawal bleed. Last 2 "double cycles" my bleed came early (first time by 5 days, second time by 10 days). I have much worse PMS type symptoms recently and am very fatigued, irritable and struggle to concentrate. I'm not overweight, athletic, not under stress and most things in life are pretty normal. Could this be the menopause. If so, why am I experiencing symptoms when I'm on the pill?
