Can Allergy To Contact Lenses Cause Scratchy Throat And Swollen Neck Glands?

Hi, I am a 50 yr old female. I wear contact lenses, Oasys brand the kind that you wear for 2-3 weeks at a time then throw them away and put in a new pair. I have developed allergies to them and the time I can wear them has gotten to be less and less. I notice that towards the end of my wearing time as the protein builds up on them, I get sinus drainage, a scatchy throat and the glands in my neck swell a little. When I put in a new pair I feel fine until about the middle of the 2nd week of wearing time. My eye doctor has tried different kinds on me and has told me to make sure I wash off my eye makeup every night and then put a hot compress on my eyes for a couple minutes. This has helped some but not cured it. Is it possible for allergies to contact lenses to cause these symptoms? When I don't wear them and wear my glasses the symptoms go away. Do I just need to ditch the contacts and wear glasses? I hate glasses!
