Can Biopsy Lead To Inflammation Of Foreskin?

hello, I am 49 years, weigh 140 pounds and have no medical problems except that about a year ago my dermatologist removed a black spot from my foreskin, (I am uncircumcised)which turned out not to be cancer. Anyhow right after the biopsy my foreskin became very inflammed for at least a month. 12 months later while it is not as inflammed as it was, I have had multiple (at least 3) fugal infections. I stopped using soap to wash it and dry it carefully every day after showering. However it is still sore and almost sticky when I retract it. My urologist said to get a diabetis test which I am scheduled to do next week. He also suggested using a steriod cream which I am frankly afraid to do since he said the skin will get thinner as a result. For the last two weeks or so I have started putting yoghurt on it three times a day which appears to be helping. My question is I have never had this problem before the biopsy. Is it that the biiopsy did something that altered my foreskin and if so will it go back to normal? After just going through all this with a minor bioposy, I am afraid to think of what a circumcision will do if I have to have one. Please advise. Thank you.
