Can Cervical Area Ankylosing Spondylitis With Pain, Numbness, Muscle Spasms Be Treated?

I have ankylo spondylosis in my cervical area and my l5/s1 region. Last September I had a strange onset of 5th nerve disease in my face that has left residual pain and numbmness as well as muscle spasms. No one has given me a cause for this 5th nerve disease and I am wondering if it is a flare up related to the disease. I have problems with my trapezious muscle especially the nerve that runs through it in both sides of my neck related to the disease. My MD stated he has never seen this cause the 5th nerve issue, but he was not sure. Can you help me get more information so that I can heal faster. I am almost 9 months out and the only symptom that has disappeared is the facial sagging.
