Can Kidney Disease Caused By Lupus Be Arrested With Prograf?

I have kidney disease caused by LUPUS. My nephrologist wants to start me on prograf as a maintenance drug to prevent my kidney function from worsening. Is this an effective drug for this condition. I am concerned about using this drug because of the numerous serious side effects

Prograf is useful for lupus but it may increase your risk of developing serious infection, lymphoma, or other cancers. You will need regular medical tests to be sure Prograf is not causing harmful effects. Do not miss any follow up visits to your doctor for blood or urine tests. Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections.
Prograf can harm your kidneys, and this effect is increased when you also use certain other medicines harmful to the kidneys.
