Can Taking Crestor Cause Decrease In The Cholesterol Level?
Hi,If you take Crestor ( rosuvastatin calcium) in 5mg, three times a week.....will this affect the liver? And can it increase chance of diabetes II? Also, with using this drug just three times a week will it reduce cholesterol as well as decreasing Inflammation? Or just for inflammation? Appreciate any info, tks!
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern. Crestor is a statin group of drugs and very effective in lowering cholesterol levels. Generally taken on daily basis but dose adjustments are possible with the concsent of your Doctor. No serious liver consequences have been described but for mild increase in liver enzyme and bilirubin in a very few people. It will not increase your risk of developing diabtes II. I will advise you just see your Doctor to evaluate how useful this drug may be to you and if possible, a lipid profile test may be requested. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Wish you good health
