Chest Heaviness While Walking And Climbing, Undergone Angiogram. Any Non Invasive Treatment?
Angioplastry was done to me in 2004. I had chest heaviness when climbed or walked for a distance. Then again, angiogram was done and was given medicines. Third time also the ame heaviness came back while walking and ballooning was done. Even now the pain comes when I climb even a few steps or walk a short distance and stops if I stop. Can I undergo another angiogram? Is there any non-invasive treatment. I am diabetic also.70 years old female. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your health concerns. You appear to have what we call stable angina. One of the options is to maximize your medications for heart disease as much as possible, to increase blood flow and improve exercise. Recent trials such as COURAGE support medical treatment as an option. Nevertheless, if you continue to have symptoms despite maximum medication therapy, with your history it would be wise to talk to your heart doctor for a repeat angiogram.
Hope this is useful, wish you the best health,
