Atopic eczema, food allergy and asthma are usually seen in association with one another. Has your child undergone allergy testing? If not, I highly recommend that. Since he is already seeing a pediatrician and dermatologist, I assume that he must be getting the care he deserves. I however recommend that you maintain a diary of possible allergens (food you are giving him, exposure to pollens/dust) and mark the gets these hives. This would help determine any possible association. The best management strategy for allergic reactions is to avoid the allergens.
Also, please let your pediatrician know if your son is getting sick (with fever/ infection) often. This may change your treatment plan.
