6/1/11 while lifting (with good body mechanics) I strained by my deductive reasoning, the anterior fibers of the gluteal minimus muscle. (hip ext. and int. rot) Given prednisone, valium at night, hydrocodone APAP. responding slowly (5 days of meds) tolerating only 50' of amb, sustained standing also exacerbates. No movements, ie. forward bending, rot, side bending, supine or prone exacerbate. Only weight bearing. Side bending posture away from painful side while walking or standing does improve tolerance. What is going on and what should I do... (I am an OTR and worked in a back program for 3 years. but Im baffled and frustrated....
