My wife is 64 and is constantly having vaginal problems from all the crap she sees on the internet about douching with yogurt and other strange things that are supposed to take away vaginosis, yeast, and anything else. Somehow she got this idea that baking soda is a good bath ingredient. I am a former PreMed major from Idaho State U. but had to pull out due to unknown damage I suffered nine years earlier from a 5mm aneurysm's rupture on the Bifurcation of the left middle cerebral artery. Now back to my wife. I have a modicum of knowledge about pH and how best to treat the warm moist region of the vagina. It just came to me tonight that her pH is almost basic, and letting all the bacteria have a picnic in there due to the negation of the acids needed to protect her down there! Soooo...Am I right to surmise that baking soda is bad for her and can cause future vaginosis, yeast, and anything else that just might want to take up house keeping down there.
