Hi My Doctor called in Losartan- HCTZ-Generic for Hyzaar 100-25 mg. I have not taken this medication yet, which I was taken Atenolol 50 mg for year's.( I just stop taking it almost a week ago) When taking Atenolol it started with scalp itching and then I notice thinning at top of my head and it spreaded. My hair is not coming out in lumps nor shedding when I comb it. ( Just bald in spots) There is no family history of hair loss or Alopecia. I'm also see a dermatologist and get hair injections every 4 weeks which is helping some. I have searched on line regarding this medication (Atenolol it states it cause Alopecia (hair loss) I pulled up this new medication and it is saying ths same. Please Advise.
