Does Gluten Intolerance Cause Joint Pain And Arthritis?

I have joint pain and after an xray I have been told I have mild arthritis..... Today however I was told that having a gluten intolerance may be related to RA..... I was wondering if this is true.... The doctor that told me I have mild arthritis in my knees. However, I didn t tell him how much my hips hurt and my hands ache. I am wondering more about this because I have two other odd things that bother me...... I have dry eyes. I have been told I have enough tears but the quality of my tears is poor and they do not stay on my eyes as long as they should. I also have Raynaud s .... To be honest I never was officially tested for this but my finger tips turn white sometimes when they get too cold and my feet also get numb and white. I am wondering if all of these could be related or is this simply age related items?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Yes, it may be related to joint pain It will not be causing it directly but both gluten or coeliac and some sorts of arhritis are autoiimune diseases so people who suffer from gluten intolerance may have autoimmune joint issues such as rheumatoid arhrtitis, or spondilitis. However, it may always be a separated disorder as well so you need to check rheumatoid factor and autoimune markers and do xrays of scelet for further evaluation.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
