Does Steroid Shot Help To Reduce Swelling And Irritation Due To Bursitis?

I was a strong athlete, not just a weekend warrior...since carrying my son (now 4 1/2) I have had severe pain in my right hip, IT, illiopsoas, psoas, pubes etc...I think we are narrowing it down to bursitis. Things get worse with sitting, walking and running. Things are so bad that sometimes I can't walk. I can harldy stretch or do yoga without sever pain. I am curoius about steroid shot to get me through swelling and irritation.
