Had Cold, Fever, Loss Of Appetite, Lethargic. What Is Wrong?

My thirteen-year old daughter just recently had a cold. Her fever ended about two days ago and her cough has decreased significantly. However, she has had no appetite in almost a week and is extremely lethargic. She is drinking water so I don't think she is dehydrated but I am concerned. She hates going to the doctor but I'm getting to the point where maybe she needs to be seen. Any ideas what could be wrong with her?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Your daughter is having viral fever.
Now as she is not fever and cough starts subsiding, nothing to worry.
At present she is having post viral weakness and fatigue.
Gradually she will feel better and she will gain her appetite back.
Meanwhile continue giving plenty of water.
Give her fruits juices and the things she feels taking.
Give her rest.
Ok and bye.

Hello, thanks for the query to H.C.M.Forum
Due to cold and fever there was bad effects over her mind , some times at this age child don't like medicines just due to hate to drugs .
Due to this reason your daughter is not willing to visit a doctor but in that case you have not to worry.
Be patience and give her some appetizer that will increase her appetite.
As far as concerned about lethargic attitude that may change as soon as her appetite will improve.
Still no change than you have to consult a physician and get in blood examination for LIVER FUNCTION TEST.
Good luck Dr. HET
