My son has been dealing with the results of what the doctors think was a bad case of mono. He had pneumonia for a month back in March and April. His legs began to hurt at the same time. It got so bad that he couldn t stand to put any weight at all on either leg. After MRIs and other tests, they found a large bone marrow edema on one femur , and they thought that he must have fallen, but he d been in bed for a month! Now the neurologist , who we have finally been able to get an appointment with, says that he has something called conus myalitis or something like that. He s on neurontin to help with functionality and allow him to walk again. My question is that two days ago he was standing at the kitchen sink washing his hand to help with some cookies when he suddenly grabbed his head and doubled over. He said that something popped in the back of his head. It happened again yesterday, and both times he said it hurt a lot, but then the pain subsided (fairly quickly). Any ideas if this might be something related to his other symptoms, or possibly to the neurontin? Is it dangerous, or is he OK? They ve done an MRI of his brain, but the results were fuzzy because he wiggled.
