How Can severe Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Be Treated?

My Husband has suffered with Carpol tunnel syndram and is experiencing alot of paint at present. He does where his wrist brace at nigh but is having a lot of pain still and numbness in his fingers - even the small finger. Our primary doctor just dismisses it to a work related problem as he is a sprayer in our company and does not ask too many questions. So what is the next step for us to take?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Carpel tunnel arises due to compression of his nerves at the wrist joint.

Consult an orthopaedician and get an MRI scan to assess the extent of nerve involvement. If the symptoms are severe, surgical correction may be required.

As of now, he can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
