Hello,

Hypogeusia may be due to upper respiratory tract infection or viral fever or head injury or trauma or parkinsonism or side effects to anticancer drugs or antibiotics or age-related taste buds loss etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Treatment always depends upon the cause. Get it done MRI brain, serum b12 level, blood sugar levels.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
