How Can severe Itchiness In The Scalp And Back Pain Be Treated?

I began taking Duloxetine March 11 in response to a year of back pain and major limitations that had led to minor depression. I have severely itchy skin that has been driving me crazy in the past couple of weeks. I am scratching my arms so much, they bleed. My scalp itches all the time but I wash my hair regularly. This is not a normal phenomena and this medication is the most recent I have been taking. Since the pain has subsided in a major way, I am prone to get off the medication as it s no longer needed and it may be what s causing my itching.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is due to fungal infection of the scalp.

As a first line management, you can apply Clotrimazole lotion for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
