How Can Fever And Wheezing Along With Breathing Difficulty Be Treated?
I have a phillips resperonics inhaler. I rarely need it. Today, low grade fever, some wheezing, if I take a deep breath I cough. I primed my inhaler 2 times. I used it once I can t say there s much difference. I m wondering if I did something wrong, or if I need a second puff.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of fever and wheezing along with breathing difficulty which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection which gets triggered by certain exaggerating factors. I would suggest you to
- Avoid cold carbonated beverages. - Mast cell stabilizers such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection. - Do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. - Take expectorants. - Take benadryl twice a day . - Steam inhalation is very effective for you.
Consult ENT specialist once without any delay. Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test and may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestants and mucolytic agents. Doctor may also order allergy test .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
