How Can Heavy Vaginal Bleeding Due To Uterine Fibroids Be Treated?
I have been prescribed ulipristil(esmya) for fibroids due to severe haemorraging, needed blood transfusions etc. I am on list for possible embolisation or hysterectomy. In the meantime esmya did not stop bleeding and clotting so also given northisterone as emergency to stop bleeding ( 5mg three times a day). This initial 10 day course completely stopped the bleeding When 10 day course was finished, Gp was reluctant to allow me to continue on the northisterone so told me to only start it again if heavy bleeding started again. Two days after stopping bleeding, flooding, clotting and unbelievable pain started again. Restarted northisterone as directed by gp ( still taking esmya). 6 days later I m still bleeding heavily and keep flooding suddenly It s stopping me from going out, I m terrified I ll flood at work. Etc. In a lot of pain also My question is why hasn t northisterone worked this time when it worked first time and is it safe to me taking two types of hormones when they don t seem yne doing their job on me.? Thanks

Hello, Have you completed your family? If that is so then a myomectomy or a hysterectomy will be a good option to permanently get rid of it. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Harshita, Ophthalmologist
