Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son recently went from a humid environment to a dry windy climate. He is now having runny and stuffy noses and sneezing attacks. Is there an over the counter product that is recommended to help with these symptoms. He has not had any fevers but this situation is effecting his energy level. Might mention he is in a dorm that was built in the 30 s.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of runny nose and sneezing which is due to sinus infection leading to sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infection .
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid use of spicy, sharp oily and fried food substances. You should take combination of antibiotic Levofloxacin along with antihistamine such as Levocetirizine. You should do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Apply mist humidifiers in room. You should take throat soothing agents. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done so as to detect level of infection and treatment can be started accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
