31 y.o. F, 130lbs, 5'3", no heart disease, bp and cholesterol great, minor scoliosis, excellent health and very active (high intensity workouts 3 to 6 times a week including MMA, running and weights), high pain tolerance and tend to push through pain when possible. pain scale is set where 10 was experienced after open heart surgery and bp was too low to receive pain medication for several hours after waking from surgery. open heart surgery 9 weeks ago to tie off CAF from LD to PA. in second week of cardiac rehab where I still have pain during certain exercises and cardio - sometimes so severe that the staff force me to quit the session early. still having severe chest pains and fatigue. surgeon says most of his patients do not have the severe pain anymore at this point. I believe the wires which I can feel (top 2) are irritating especially with upper body movement but surgeon refuses to believe anything is causing pain and that I have to just live with it despite my research which resulted in several medical articles about studies where wires were taken out after persistent sternal pain after open heart surgery. I have worked with primary care and cardiologist to try alternative pain management solutions. any suggestions on how to proceed to either find root cause of pain, alternative pain management, or possible causes of continued severe pain? Thanks in advance.
