Hi, I ve been taking large doses, as prescribed by my doctor, of oxycodone ( 15mg x2 every 4-5 hours a day for sever chronic pain since spinal surgery in 2010. The surgery was very poorly done. In August 2015 I began Gabapentin with god results, by December the gaba dose was stabilized at 600mg 3/ day. In January 2016 I reduced to 10mg with same dose schedule, since surgery also take 600mg ibuprofen with the narcotic PK. Pain increased but I ll live. February 2016 I switched to 10/325 hydrocodone on the same schedule with slight increase in pain, mostly in knee with badly torn miniscus and ACL torn in both plus left shoulder with torn ligaments. I m wondering about switching from the Norco 10/325 to CBD. In AZ. Medical Cannabis is legal and I m able to get purified CBD. Also, if it is a viable effective replacement for the Norco what kind of tapering schedule would you recommend as the best compromise between quickly coming off the med and tolerable discomfort? As a reference, I m never pain free. On the pain scale I average a 4-4.5 on a low pain day, about 5+ on bad days with some spikes to six on really bad days. My definition for the scale is 1= zero pain 10= brown outs and complete incapacitation. I m 46 and other than my spinal surgery ( Which I found out from 2 highly rated and regarded Neurologists was completely unnecessary about a year and a half ago.) I ve had 3 migraine headaches, among many dozens of migraines, that I would that I would call a 10 on the scale. Thank you, I would value your opinion very much.
