How High Are Pregnancy Chances After Positive Home Pregnancy Test?
Hello. I am 41 years old, healthy and have a uteries like a 30 year old :o) (according to my doctor). I had 2 3day top quality embryo's implanted 2 weeks ago today. I have for 4 days had light spotting and some lower stomac ache and on and off with light nausia. 2 days ago I did a home pregancy test which was positive. Yesterday I did the Hcg beta which was low (dont know how low) and will go back for a 2nd blood test next wednesday. Is it possible to say what my chances are that this will go in the right direction? Many thanks, Hege

Hi Hege, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Positive urine pregnancy test is confirmatory of pregnancy. Low hCG levels can be due to inadequate invasion of uterine decidua by the conceptus, ectopic pregnancy or due to impending failure of pregnancy.
I would suggest you to get your hCG levels repeated after48 hours, if doubling occurs, then it is normal. Otherwise ultrasound should be done to confirm the diagnosis.
