How To Improve Chest Expansion?

i was having a chest expansion of 8 cm before 5 yrs but due to lack of improper nutrition and living habits now i am not getting a chest expansion of 4 cm now my age is eligible for getting into army but i am unable to show chest expansion what should i do, please help me doctor.
