Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing fairly dibilitating anxiety. I sometimes react way out of proportion when something happens. My hands and head shake sometimes also. I find myself being scared also for no particular reason and when very stressed I loose control of my body and cry(and sometimes scream). I also have muscle tention and spasms.
The symptoms like shakiness of hands on some situations, severe anxiety, crying spells etc could be due to anxiety disorder or panic disorder. If these symptoms are causing significant impairment to your normal functioning then consult a psychiatrist for treatment. Anxiety is treated with both medicines and non-medicinal psychological treatment.
Medicines used in anxiety are mainly of SSRI group. Sertraline, Escitalopram, Fluoxetine etc are commonly used in anxiety disorder. For severe attacks Propranolol, or low dose benzodiazepines like Etizolam, Clonazepam etc have excellent results. Consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
