How To Treat Cramps In Thighs?

I was in a skiing accident 4 wks ago. I saw an orthopedist and was dx on Monday with a dvt in the calf extending up to the crease in the back of the knee as well as a suspected tear in the gastrocnemius muscle. I am now having a cramping feeling in the back of my thigh and ever once in a while discomfort in the right groin. I am waiting for the vascular doctor to call me. I do not know if I should wait for him to call or call the orthopedist back and report these symptoms.
