How To Treat Inflammation In Left Mastoid Area?

my husband, who is rarely sick, has had 2 episodes this week where he had a dull, aching pain down his left arm and a pain in the top of his head. He became very light headed with blurred vision in his left eye. Both times he called 911 and was taken by ambulance and had a 1 night stay in 2 different hospitals. they had no real answers. Head MRI, 2 CT scans OK. Inflammation in the left mastoid area. He is having the symptoms again now,but is at home in bed. Any ideas what is going on?
