How To Treat Pain And Discomfort In Elbow After A Injury?

If i raise my right hand above my head. Palm open and facing outwards (thumb inward), no problem. I twist my hand (thumb outward) and rasie it above my head, no problem until I lower it. My elbow gets to 90 degrees and I feel a burn or pull in my triceop. I want to know if there is any exercises I can do to strenghten it or repair any damage? I did this injury about 4 months ago and have been ignoring the discomfort until now.

hi,

thank you for providing the brief history of your elbow injury.

By understanding the history what i feel is there is a weakness in the shoulder girdle muscles and the muscles of the arm. Also, if you would have mentioned about the type of elbow injury it would have assisted further to find the cause.

As you mentioned that lifting the upper limb is painful when the forearm is in supine position. What i will advice is to perform the strengthening of the triceps muscle as this is the major weak muscles occurs due to the immobilization of the elbow. Also, due to elbow injury there are chances of nerve impingement in that area, the nerve involved is the ulnar nerve, which is common, and by strengthening the triceps the impingement is relieved. I have myself faced this issue but now i am 100% recovered.

I will advice to do strengthening of the upper limb as a whole and if the process is painful, do not worry, just push yourself, you will be 100% fine.
