I have a persistent fever of 37.4 C or higher (ranging from 37.4 to 38.1), which began in November of last year and continues to the present day. After a routine checkup including an abdominal ultrasound, it was found my spleen in slightly enlarged and I also have a small (2mm) gallbladder polyp. There is an interesting history with the fever in that it began in the fall of 2012, along with weight loss and hair loss. The weight loss (10kg) stabilized in the spring of 2013, the hair loss stopped and the fevers disappeared. Then, again last fall the fevers began. The fever presents with body aches, but no other symptoms are present such as cold-like symptoms, etc. Recently some of the wieght has been regained ( about 3 kg). Other co-exisitng conditions include: endometriosis, small ovarian cyst, bipolar disporder, temporal lobe epilepsy with simple partial seizures, chronic migraine headaches of unknown origin (30 year headache history). I am a 40-year old caucasian American female living in Japan for 16 years.
