Hi Good morning Doctor.
This is regarding my kid 14 years , a girl , of twins. One month ago, she had a problem of swallowing when she was having her breakfast. She complained some food particles went in to her lungs and blocked her respiratory tract. She says that terrible time is the meal time. She feels hungry but fear that it will go to respiratory tract and block it. Since then I have shown her to 8 doctors, including, ENT , VP, Child specialists and did xrays and Ba screenibg, FBC&Blood picture and various other tests and all found to be normal. Three days ago, I consulted a Psychiatrist and she suspect that it is due to Anxiety and reccommended Alprozolam
0.125 mg two times and 0.25 mg (1tablet at night) and if chest pain arises suddenly a tablet. Now my problem is this.
I have given her i tablet last night( 9.00P.M.) and after that with much difficulty we gave her some food though she refused it thouruogly. Last night at about 1.00 oclock she got up and did not sleep.showed short of breathing, and she complained lightness and fear sleeping once again. After about 1 hour again she fell sleep and still (7.00A,M.) she is sleeping. Will that condition ok with the continuation of the Alprozolam?
Should Other medications be given?
She is extremely bright student and will it affect her future education?
Will she be able to cope up with studies in the future? willthat condition may aggravate during the period when she is preparing for her exams?
In short, will she be able to live normal life or should she live with tablets?
Thank you ever so much for an early reply
