Is A Medical Abortion Associated With Abdominal Cramps And Headaches?
I think I am 5weeks pregnant so I took mifepristone and on the second day I took misoprostol 800mcg vaginally after I took ibuprofen 40minutes earlier.. I first had itching on my palm and later cramps just like my normal period. I also had diarrhea with blood clots but my bleeding was not heavy.. After four hours I took another 400mcg misoprostol sublingually just to make sure the abortion is complete.. Right now I am bleeding with clots coming out like in 2hrs interval.just like my normal periods, no cramps, no headache, no sign of weakness.. Please I want to know if the medical abortion is successful.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can have abdomen cramps and headache as hormonal effect of Mifepristone. To make sure that abortion is successful, you have to get an ultrasound of the pelvis done with your radiologist.
Thanks.
