Is Colon Cancer Related To Severe Abdominal Pain?

I am having bad abdominal and back colon spasms....the ct scan was normal...having a colonoscopy in two weeks....are these spasms a symptom of colon cancer? I had bladder cancer in 2009 and they got it all. Ian worried about colon cancer. Can you give me some insight?

HI

Thank you for reaching out to HCM.

Colon cancer may not always present with pain. However, pain can be seen when there is obstruction to the movement of feces or food. This can cause the colon to dilate and the pain to start.

In case this happens often, drinking a lot of water, taking a high fibre diet, and getting lots of rest can be useful. Along with this, getting a check up to confirm the cause would be useful as well.

Bladder cancer may have metastasis or may put one at risk for other cancers. However, this is not a direct risk or the connection is not well established. It would be a good idea to look for cancer or tumor markers and then to confirm the cause.

I hope this helps you. All the best.
