Is Intermittent Blocking Of Ears And Hearing Loss Normal During Pregnancy?

I am 16 weeks pregnant, and my right ear has been blocked / clogged off and on for a little over 1 month now. It went away for about a week, and now it is back again in full force. I sometimes wake up at night with it itching internally, and I feel a lot of pressure in it associated with hearing loss. I saw my PCP who said he sees fluid. He referred me to an ENT whom I will see next week. In the meantime, should I be worried that this hearing loss could turn permanent if not treated permanently? Do you think this is just a result of being pregnant? I have not been sick with a cold or upper respiratory infection lately. If anything, I constantly feel "stuffy" whether from allergies or pregnancy.
