Is Medical Attention Required For Chronic Cough And Nose Bleeds?
My teen daughter has been sick for almost a week...her symptoms started off like a cold then like the flu now the cough is so bad that she needs to vomit which then leads to massive nose bleeds, she sounds hoarse and seems to be tired more than usual. What do you think and should I seek medical attention?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Your daughter had probably viral infection/ allergy to start with affecting her nasal mucus membrane & throat, followed by cough which so severe to cause vomiting & nasal bleed.... the cough can be post viral / due to secondary bacterial infection/ Blod changes due to allergic cold- Eosinophillia.. Before treating these things need to be sorted out.So you should consult a doctor for detailed physical examination & investigations followed by specific treatment. Thanks.
