Is There A Permanent Cure For Joint Pain In Old Age?

Hi, My mother is @ 56yr old and she is suffering from joint pain from last 6 months, in X-ray its found that because of old age destruction of bones started, she is taking medicines now but whenever she stops taking medicines, the pain begins again, is there any permanent solution for this?
